CALFRESH HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM

PROVIDING NUTRITION EDUCATION ACROSS LOS ANGELES

The Pompea Smith Good Cooking/ Buena Cocina (PSGC) team is contracted by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health to provide nutrition education and physical activity to CalFresh-eligible families.

The CalFresh Healthy Living Program supports healthy and active lifestyles by teaching Californians about good nutrition and how to stretch their food dollars, while also building partnerships in communities to make the healthy choice, the easy choice. PSGC partners with the Lawndale Elementary School District to provide 100 classes to parents and students annually.

In addition to our partnership in Lawndale Elementary, we provide over 100 nutrition education classes, food demonstrations, and physical activity classes in parks and healthcare clinics across Los Angeles each year.
