Who We Are
Founded as a working part of the Hollywood Economic Revitalization Effort, Sustainable Economic Enterprises of Los Angeles (SEE-LA) has ultimately become one of the leading producers of farmer’s markets in Los Angeles County.
SEE-LA’s mission is a simple yet impactful one – to build sustainable food systems and promote improved fresh food access that will benefit low-to-moderate income residents of Los Angeles County while also supporting California small farms and mid-size farms. Through this work we enrich the health and overall quality of life for the communities in which we work.
The Farmer's Kitchen
The Farmer’s Kitchen opened in 2009 and is a direct extension of the freshest local crops and artisanal food that’s offered every Sunday at the Hollywood Farmers’ Market.
This community kitchen offers a variety of cooking and nutrition classes taught by some of LA’s best known Chefs. The Farmer’s Kitchen Healthy School Lunch program began in 2010, and has since served over 80,000 hot lunches to K-4th grade students at two campuses of Larchmont Charter School West Hollywood, through the Alice Waters Edible Schoolyard program.
Retail and Café service is offered Tuesday – Friday from 11:00am – 3:00pm and on Sundays from 7:30am – 2:00pm. The Farmer’s Kitchen is also an ideal commercial kitchen space for corporate or private parties and events.
