Part of the fun of having a market in the middle of Hollywood is the glitz and glamor of the big screen, and no other event embodies this more than the Academy Awards Ceremony, held this Sunday, February 24.
The not-so-fun part of having the Oscars in Hollywood is the street closures that go along with it. The Hollywood Farmers’ Market is scheduled to be open the same time on Sunday (8am until 1pm), but please be aware of changes to your typical route (and more importantly, avoid having your car towed or ticketed). Major changes include closure of the Highland on and off ramps off the 101 freeway, and Metro Red Line rail cars will not stop at the Hollywood/Highland station on Sunday.
The complete list of changes is listed here. (Oscars.org website)
SEE-LA also operates a fine farmers’ market in Atwater Village for those who are fed up with movie stars altogether (Sundays, 10AM-2PM).
